Good design lives beyond the digital world. For Annual Reports it is important to leverage clear reporting, aesthetic visuals, infographics, concise copy, and engaging layout hierarchies. My experience in user-centered design shines through this type of reporting, where numbers can tell a story.
My Role
Following the successful completion of the inaugural Annual Report, I was invited back to create the next report. As the lead Graphic Designer on this project, I leveraged a deep understanding of visual information design and strategically integrated timelines, charts, and infographics to make data more engaging and comprehensible.
Design Approach
For the Smithsonian's Annual Report, I initiated the process by evaluating the previous year's report, identifying successes and areas for improvement. Drawing on feedback and analytics, I iteratively enhanced the design, employing UX principles to ensure optimal content organization and user comprehension, demonstrating a holistic approach to design strategy and user-centered information presentation.
