harm less

This body of work examines the ethical and environmental implications embedded in everyday food choices. Through bold visual storytelling, the project explores the destructive systems of modern food production and challenges the social norms that allow them to persist. By merging analog and digital processes, the collection highlights the tension between tradition and modernity, mirroring the contradictions within our food systems themselves.

Hand-drawn images are transformed into precise vector illustrations and returned to the analogue through screenprinting. Sculptural forms are developed through 3D modeling and patternmaking, then brought into physical space through sewn plush meats. Together, these pieces create an immersive, multi-media experience that encourages viewers to confront the tangible consequences of their choices and consider more sustainable, compassionate alternatives.

My Role
As the lead artist and designer, I guided the project from initial research through final exhibition. My responsibilities included conducting extensive research into food systems, animal ethics, and sustainability. I developed the conceptual framework and visual narrative of the collection, creating all illustrations through a combined analog-to-digital workflow, and fabricating sculptural works using 3D modeling, patternmaking, and hand-sewn construction. I also, prepared exhibition materials and final production files for display

Key Insights & Takeaways
The project demonstrates how process can become part of the message. The deliberate use of hand drawing, digital transformation, and physical construction reinforced themes of production, labor, and the often-hidden systems behind the things we consume. Viewers engaged more deeply when abstract issues were rendered through tactile, familiar materials.
Multimedia storytelling amplifies impact. This project proved thoughtful storytelling and compelling imagery powerful tools for challenging social norms and inspiring conversations.
